Well folks, it's official, Bud (hubby) let the fire in the wood stove go out yesterday and this morning we are burning propane for the first time since the beginning of Nov.

Then early this morning he drove the tractor around the machine shed that sits behind our house, from the machine shed following a very shallow water 'run' across our east side yard and on north to a level 'field' next to the road ditch.  Those tractor wheels left nice foot deep channels in the rotten snow pack for the snow melt from about 30+acres that sit much higher than our house and yard, and the channels also prevent any 'backup'/lakes from temporarily forming in our yard or seeping into the machine shed. 

So, Spring is officially here in St.Croix County, WI.

Yes I think spring has sprung as it were and I for one am vey happy to see it..Good to hear from you Judy...

Yes good to hear from you, Judy. I don't think I have ever heard the term 'rotten snow pack' before. I have used several other 'phrases' for snow, ice and the rain that we have been afflicted with, which seems like forever.

 My Dad was born in the part of the country that WB and I live in. Matter of fact WB lives only a few miles from where the old place used to be. Anyway he used to say watch what you plant before Easter, there will be a freeze either just before or just after. It usually is a light freeze,but a dip in temperature anyway. If it will dry out a little gonna get some onion sets and potatoes out.
